The National CASA Association’s African-American Advisory Committee

As chairperson of the African-American Advisory Committee (AAAC) of the National CASA Association, I thank you for your interest and support in advocating on behalf of our children. Our committee is composed of 12 individuals throughout the country who have a passion for decreasing the disproportionate number of African-American children in the child welfare system.

The AAAC serves in an advisory capacity to the National CASA board of directors and staff with respect to volunteer recruitment, policy issues and identifying funding for targeted projects. Additionally, one of our key roles is community outreach and finding ways to share this volunteer opportunity with more African-Americans and engage individuals in the CASA/GAL network.

Overall, our goal is to champion issues related to African-Americans serving and affected by the National CASA Association. We hope you will consider getting involved and work in tandem with our mission of serving the children who need us.

Respectfully,

D. “Dee” Horn
