May—Foster Care Month
Foster Care Month originated in 1988 through the efforts of the
National Foster Parent Association.
The main focus of the early efforts was appreciation and recognition
of the tremendous contributions of foster parents nationwide.
Today, Foster Care Month is a partnership of
14 national organizations
working to raise awareness and remind us of the hundreds of thousands
of children in our country who need loving families and safe homes.
We invite you to contact child advocacy organizations to learn how you
can help. Whether you donate or volunteer, you are helping to make a
difference in a child’s life. Visit the National Foster Care Month
website to learn how you can get involved.
